Belly dancing is fun and also a tremendously enjoyable way of getting and keeping fit. It is excellent for re-shaping and toning-up the waist, hips and abdominal area, whilst strengthening joints and gaining flexibility throughout.
It is suitable for all ages and teaches a series of basic steps and body movements which means that no previous dancing experience is required.
Belly dancing is one of the oldest forms of dance with origins that can be traced back to ancient Middle Eastern, Oriental and Arabic cultures. Influences on the dance today come from African, Indian, American tribal and even Spanish dance forms.
