Introducing Cafe Habibi at The Crown Hotel, Framlingham Sunday 21st March 7.00 - 10.00pm

Come along to an informal dance evening to meet other dancers and chat, have coffee, light bites or even a glass of wine. Try out your latest dance moves, practise dances and enjoy the music.

Next dates are monthly on Sunday April 25th and Sunday May 23rd

A series of workshops with something for all levels.

Whilst all the workshops are intended to be fun and interesting they vary in levels of intensity. Please ask in class if you have questions about your level of experience for the various workshops.

Sunday 21st February - Finding Your Individual Dance Style Workshop Part 1
A workshop for general level aimed at improving your ability and confidence to dance on your own. This workshop will cover musical interpretation, basic choreography skills, transitions, combinations, arm movements and performance skills.

Sunday 7th March - Finding Your Individual Dance Style Workshop Part 2
This workshop is aimed at those wanting to put together a solo dance for performance or just for your own satisfaction. it will cover starts and finishes, entrances and exits, use of props and costuming. Please bring your veil and cane or even a sword if you have one (but please no snakes!).

Sunday 21st March - Belly Dancing with a Twist
Add a twist to everything! A fun workshop using this one move - the horizontal hip twist. From the basic move we will learn variations, layering, embellishments and even travelling with this one lovely move to spice up your dancing.


Sunday 25th April - Technique Part 1 The Seven Core Moves of Bellydance
Learn how each of the core moves of belly dance is used to create a complete range of movement for the lower, mid and upper body. Explore the way each move relates to a different area of the body, including hips, torso, chest, shoulders, arms and head.


Sunday 9th May - Technique Part 2 Refining and Defining Your Moves
Start to think how you use your body in different ways to change the look and feel of your moves. Smooth out the slow, flowing moves, learn to sharpen and accent the more defined moves. Using the seven core moves we concentrated on in the first workshop and also learning to travel with them.


Sunday 23rd May - Technique Part 3 Belly Dance Boot Camp!
Drills Drills Drills to help improve and increase your range of moves. Strengthen your core to help balance and control your belly dance moves. Learn how to intensify your moves to help improve how each move looks when you dance. Learn layering, embellishments and travelling with the various moves.
Not for the faint-hearted!

General Information for all the workshops

The workshops are generally suitable for all levels with 3+ months dancing experience, although Technique Parts 2 & 3 are aimed at 1-2+ years experience. However please feel free to ask about your particular experience level if you want to do the course of three technique workshops.

All workshops are 2 hours long from 2.00pm - 4.00pm.

Cost is £7.50 per workshop or £6.50 each if you book for 3 or more workshops in advance.

Workshops are limited to 25 places per workshop.

The venue for the workshops is Hacheston Village Hall, Hacheston IP13 0DR near Wickham Market (just off the A12). There is plenty of parking at the hall.

A workshop for beginners and improver and anyone wanting to bring their Egyptian Walk up to speed.

Sunday 6th September -We have been asked by the Ipswich Community Police to dance at the Cliff Lane Street Fair on 6th September in aid of EACH and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

March 2009 - A series of three Dance Workshops to learn and perfect our group dances with a social time afterwards to dance, chat and meet dancers from other classes.

Recent events throughout the summer months included dancing at the Easton Festival and Framlingham Summer Splash, Yoxford, Felixstowe and Halesworth Carnivals, Ufford Bygones Funday and fetes at Saxmundham, Snape, Sweffling and the Genesis fete in Ipswich.

Henrietta has also given workshops and demonstrations at various events including World Mental Health Day in Ipswich and Make an Exhibition of Yourself in Bury St Edmunds, a week-long event for young disabled people.
